Wireless means the signal... Not Power
I bought the 2 camera system and this camera is Wonderful! Yes you have to run a wire to power it (Duh!). But the signal is sent via 2.4ghz. RF (the wireless part). You can mount the microscopic DVR anywhere that you can get response. I have mine down in the Den next to my recliner, but, you can move it by far if you call to supervise from, say, the pantry. The two way "intercom" is exact to have! If you stress power outage protection money, you will stress to place a ups power release for each camera (use one for a computer and out of it the camera give into the vent from the ups) I set up the system and installed 2 cameras in an afternoon without any weight. It did take a smidgin planning, but, it was actually straightforward. It is a lot cheaper than the multi thousand dollar systems. And the pictures (even after foul) are spectacular!
